Fire damages Tongi cotton warehouses
DHAKA, Feb 22, 2020 (BSS) – A fire that broke out caused damages to some cotton warehouses in Tongi on the outskirts of capital on Saturday, and was doused after three and a half hours later.
Senior Station Officer Md Atiqur Rahman of Tongi Fire Service and Civil Defense confirmed this to BSS.
He said, the fire originated from cotton warehouses in south station of Tongi Mill Gate area at around 12 pm today.
“Ten units of firefighters rushed to the spot and doused the blaze after three and a half hours of frantic efforts,” Atiqur added.
“Firefighters brought the fire under control at around 4 pm,” he said.
Senior Station Fireman of Tongi Fire Service Jahangir Alam said two fire fighters were injured while trying to douse the flame.
