Ex KU professor dies getting crushed under train
KHULNA, Feb 22, 2020 (BSS)- Prof Mizanur Rahman, former professor of
Soil Water and Environment Discipline Department of Khulna University(KU) was
killed today morning while trying to get on a moving carriage at Khulna
Railway Station.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Government Railway Police Station Md Foyezur
Rahman said, while trying to get into the moving carriage of a Beanpole bound
commuter train at around 6.45am he suddenly fell over the rail line and got
crushed.
He died on the spot.
On information, GRP Thana police rushed the spot and rescued the body.
The body was then sent to Khulna Medical College Hospital morgue for
autopsy.

Rahman told BSS that recently retired Prof. Mizanur was going to visit
Gadkhali area under Jhikargachha upazila of Jashore for visiting flower
cultivation nurseries with his colleagues.
His first namaz-e-janaza was held at the central mosque of KU after Zohr
prayer today.
According to family sources, he will be buried at his family graveyard at
Louhajong upazila of Munsiganj district.
KU VC professor Dr Fayequzzaman expressed deep shocked and conveyed
sympathy to his family members.
