All set to observe immortal Ekushey in Netrakona
NETRAKONA Feb 19, 2020 (BSS) – All out preparations have been completed here to observe the immortal Ekushey February and international mother language day on February 21 with due respect and solemnity .
Netrakona district administration, upazila administrations, educational institutions and socio-cultural and political organizations have designed elaborate programs to observe the day.
Official sources here said, the day’s program will be formally started at one minute past after the zero hour on the day at Netrakona central Shaheed Minar premises with placing of floral wreaths by deputy commissioner.
As part of the program, national flag will be hoisted at half- mast atop of all the public and private buildings in the district during the sun-rising period.
Netrakona Shishu academy will arrange a competition on art, poetry-recitation and hand-writings for school children at it’s office premises in the morning.
An easy -writing competition on “Language movement” for school and college students will be held at local Anjuman government high school premises at 11.30 AM on the day.
Netrakona district information office will arrange screening of documentary film show on “the language movement and liberation war” at Netrakona central Shaheed minar premises in the afternoon.
The district administration will organize a discussion meeting and cultural function at Netrakona central Shaheed minar premises in the evening.
Special prayers will be offered at all the mosques, temples, churches and other places of worships across the district seeking divine blessings for peace and salvation of the departed souls of the martyrs of the Language movement.
