Sheikh Hasina materializing Bangabandhu’s dream of establishing self-dignified nation: Amu

SANGSAD BHABAN, Feb 18, 2020 (BSS) – Treasury bench lawmaker Amir Hossain Amu today said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is materializing Bangabandhu’s dream of establishing the country as a self-dignified state in the world.

“Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman had a dream that the Bengali nation will be established as a self-dignified nation in the world. It has been proved that his (Bangabandhu) dream was not imaginary one as his daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has come to the state power,” he said.

The veteran parliamentarian made the statement while taking part on discussion on the thanksgiving motion on President’s January 9 address to the House on the last day of the sixth session of the 11th parliament with Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury in the chair.

He thanked President Abdul Hamid for his 163-page speech projecting the government’s success in all sectors in the last 11 years under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

The dreams, hopes and desires of Bangabandhu are going to be materialized by her (Sheikh Hasina), Amu said, adding that Bangladesh has been successful to emerge in the world again.

Referring to Henry Kissinger’s utmost efforts on behalf of the United Sates (US) against Bangladesh’s War of Liberation in 1971, he said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina received peace award from the hands of Kissinger.

Actually they (US) were bound to give the award for signing the Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) Peace Accord, the treasury bench lawmaker added.

Terming Sheikh Hasina as a visionary, honest, courageous and hard working state leader, Amu said she has successful to establish herself as one of the a few state leaders in the world.

Although the whole world is facing an economic recession, he said, Bangladesh is progressing with the increasing trend of economic growth due to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s village oriented steps, including launching allowances for elderly people, widows, husband-deserted women, lactating mothers, people with disabilities and freedom fighters.

About celebration of the ‘Mujib Year’ on the occasion of the birth centenary of Bangabandhu, Amu thanked Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for taking the initiative of celebrating the year across the world through UNESCO.

Taking part in the discussion, Chief Whip Noor-E-Alam Chowdhury said under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the government is working relentlessly to implement the Vision-2021 and build the country as hunger and poverty free digital Bangladesh in line with the spirit of the War of Liberation.

As the long term plan, the government has formulated the Delta Plan-2100 for the first time, he said, adding, “Bangladesh has earned the highest economic growth in the Asia, leaving neighboring India and Pakistan behind”.

As the mover of the of the Thanksgiving Motion on the President’s address to the House, the Chief Whip thanked the lawmakers for taking part in the discussion on the motion.

Amu and Noor-E-Alam paid rich tributes to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman for his sacrifice and contribution to establish an independent Bangladesh.

Later, the House unanimously adopted the thanksgiving motion on the president’s speech.
