ARREST-PATHAO-MURDER
3 held over Pathao driver murder in Ashulia
DHAKA, Feb 17, 2020 (BSS) – Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-1) today
arrested three persons for their alleged involvement in the murder of an app-
based ridesharing service ‘Pathao’ driver Md Shamim Bepari Babu from Kathgara
Paloyan Para area under Ashulia police station.
The arrestees are – Md Mamunur Rashid, 22, of Mymensingh, Md Mahbubur
Rahman, 20, of Bhola and Md Momin Mia, 20 of Lalmonirhat.
On information, RAB members arrested them from Rupayan ground of Jamgara
under Ashulia police station around 6.30am today.
RAB-1 commanding officer Lieutenant Conel Shafi Ullah Bulbul told this at a
press briefing at RAB-1 office at Uttara this afternoon.
Mobile phone and bloodstained clothes of the victim were recovered during
the drive, he said.
RAB-1 Additional Superintendent of Police Md Kamal Uddin, Company Commander
and Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Md Salah Uddin and ASP Morshedul
Hasan were present on the occasion, among others.
On February 13, Md Shamim Bepari, 28, a driver of Pathao, was murdered with
sharp weapons at Kathgara area in Ashulia.
