Three members of human trafficking gang held in Cumilla
CUMILLA, Feb 17, 2020 (BSS) – Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)
arrested three persons for their alleged involvement with an international
human trafficking gang from Dhorkora Bazar and Chiwra areas under Chouddagram
upazila of the district today.
The arrestees are: Abdur Rahim alias Rubel, 25, Kazi Foysal Ahammed Roni,
32, and Md Nurul Haque, 30.
On secret information, separate teams of RAB conducted special drives in
the aforesaid areas and arrested the active members of human trafficking
gang, said Company Commander of RAB-11 Major Talukdar Nazmus Sakib.
RAB personnel also rescued three Rohingyas, including a girl, and seized
fake passports, three computers, two printers, a scanner, seven mobile phone
sets and Taka 60,540 in cash during the drives.
During primary interrogation, they confessed that they illegally send
Rohingya people to different countries, including Malaysia, making fake
passports.
Filling of a case is underway in this regard with the Chauddagram Police
Station, added the official.
