Rain likely over parts of country

DHAKA, June 11, 2018 (BSS) – Light to moderate rain or thundershowers
accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind and lightning flashes are
likely to occur at places over the country in 24 hours as of 9 am tomorrow.

“Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty
or squally wind and lightning flashes are likely to occur at most places over
Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at
many places over Rajshahi and Rangpur divisions with moderately heavy to very
heavy falls at places over the country in the next 24 hours commencing from 9
am today,” said a met office press release here.

Mild heat wave condition over Rangpur division and the regions of Rajshahi
and Naogaon may abate during the period, the release said, adding that day
temperature may fall by 1-2 degrees Celsius and night temperature might
remain nearly unchanged over the country. The maximum temperature was
recorded 37.8 degrees Celsius yesterday at Sayedpur in Rangpur division and
today’s minimum temperature 24.0 degrees Celsius at Rangamati in Chattogram
division.

The highest rainfall in the last 24 hours as of 6 am today was recorded
257 mm at Rangamati in Chattogram division.

The sunsets at 6.46 pm today and rises at 5.10 am tomorrow in the capital
city.
