JS body stresses on safeguard to prevent erosion
DHAKA, 13 Feb, 2020 (BSS) – The 9th meeting of the parliamentary standing
committee on Ministry of Water Resources was held here today at Jatiya
Sangsad Bhaban with committee chairman Ramesh Chandra Sen in the chair.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister for Water Resources Ministry
AKM Enamul Hoque Shameem and member Md Afzal Hossain.
During the meeting, the committee discussed about the measures to protect
government establishments in Khulna city from the erosion of Bhairab and
Rupsa rivers and Gaibandha Sadar upazila from Bhairav and Rupsa rivers.
The committee placed a recommendation to take necessary steps to take
action in light of the realities for the public interest.
The meeting recommended strengthening the monitoring activities of the
ministry while implementing the projects.
Water Resources Secretary Kabir Bin Anwar and officials concerned of the
ministry and secretariat were also present in the meeting.
