Govt. turning disabled population into human resources: speakers

KHULNA, Feb 13, 2020 (BSS) – Speakers at a function have said present
government has been striving hard to turn the disabled population into human
resources by imparting proper training and providing various facilities for
their development and mainstreaming in the society.

They said this at an inaugural function of a 20-day long training courses
for disabled people titled on ‘Graphics Design and Multimedia’ organized by
Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC), Khulna region at its office in the city
here on Wednesday afternoon.

Khulna Divisional Commissioner Dr. Muhammad Anwar Hossain Howlader
attended the inaugural ceremony of training courses as chief guest with
Director of BCC Khulna Regional Sheikh Mofizur Rahman in the chair.

Director of Department of Social Services (DSS) Md Abdur Rahman, Director
of BCC Mohammad Enamul Kabir, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education and
ICT) Golam Moinuddin Hasan and Information Officer of Khulna Regional
Information Office Md. Moinuddin, also addressed the function as special
guests.

Speakers outlined the massive programs being implemented by the government
for mainstreaming the disabled persons in the society through ensuring their
constitutional and human rights, development and empowerment.

The chief guest said the present government led by Prime Minister Sheikh
Hasina is making the disabled population self-employed and self-reliant
through providing various training and necessary assistance.

A total of 20 disabled persons participated in the training courses.
