RAJSHAHI, Feb 12, 2020 (BSS) – Two persons were killed when a pickup van
carrying them collided with a stationary truck on Rajshahi-Chapainawabganj
Highway at Rajabarihat area under Godagari Upazila in the district this
morning.
One of the deceased has been identified as Jahidul Islam Mawla, 20, son of
Jalal Ahmed hailed from Muhammadpur area in Dhaka. But the identity of
another person couldn’t be known immediately.
Abdul Bari, In-charge of Premtali Police Investigation Centre, said a
Chapainawabganj-bound pickup van laden with thaiglass suddenly hit a sand
carrying stationary truck from behind at around 7:45 am, killing two
passengers of the pickup van on the spot.
The deceased were Thai glass workers in profession, he said.
Police seized the pickup van but its driver managed to flee, he also said.
