Navy School and College emerge champions in Bangabandhu School Hockey
DHAKA, Feb 11, 2020 (BSS) – Bangladesh Navy School and College emerged Khulna phase champions beating MA Bari Secondary School by 2-0 goals in the first round of Bangabandhu National School hockey’s competition that concluded today (Tuesday) through Khulna venue.
Held at Khulna Stadium, Tanvir Tahasin put the winning side ahead with a field goal in the 17th minute while Ruhul Amin Tushar sealed the victory also scoring the another field goal in the 47th minute of the match.
Khulna City Corporation mayor Talukder Abdul Khalek was the chief guest in the match and distributed the prizes. Khulna Police Commissioner Khandakar Lutfar Kabir, Bangladesh Hockey Federation vice president Abdur Rashid Sikder, First Security Islami Bank EVP and zonal head of Khulna Kazi Shamim Ahsan, Khulna District Sports Association’s general secretary wing commander Mohammad Rafiqul Islam were also present in the prize distribution ceremony.
The eighteen teams – champions and runners-up teams from nine venues – will take part in the final round scheduled to begin on February 27 in Dhaka.
