REMAND-MILITANT-ANSAR
Five Ansar-al-Islam militants remanded
DHAKA, Feb 10, 2020 (BSS) – A Dhaka court today placed five members of
banned militant outfit Ansar-al-Islam on four-day remand each in a case
lodged under Anti-terror Act.
The remanded militants are– Md Nizam Uddin, 21, Md Rayhan Bhuiyan, 20, Md
Hanif Uddin Sumon, 19, Sheikh Iftekharul Islam alias Arif, 25, and Mufti
Muslim Uddin alias Muslim, 27.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Shahidul Islam passed the order as
investigation officer (IO) and Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime
(CTTC) unit Sub-Inspector Sohel Mahmud produced the five accused before the
court and pleaded to place them on 10-day remand each.
CTTC arrested the accused from capital’s Sabujbagh area last night. Three
machetes, three bags and four smartphones were recovered from their
possession.
