CHATTTOGRAM, Feb 9, 2020 (BSS) – Members of Chattogram District Police in a drive arrested four youths with 40,000 pieces of yaba tablets from Muzaffarabad area on Chattogram-Cox’s Bazar highway under Patiya upazila last night.
The arrested drug traders were identified as Mozammel Haq, 30, and Jahedul
Islam Ratul, 42, both hailed from Noakhali district, Nur Nabi, 24, hailed
from Mirsari upazila, Hasmat Kabir Sakil, 21, of Sandwip upazila of the
district.
SM Rasidul Hoque, police superintendent of Chattogram, disclosed this in a
press conference held at its Halishahor police line office this afternoon.
On a tip-off, a team of the Patiya Thana Police conducted a raid in the
area and nabbed the four Motorcycle rider youths with the contraband items
around 6 pm last night, he said.
“The estimated value of the seized yaba is Taka 1.2 crore,” he said,
adding that police also seized two motorcycles, recovered 1,200 foreign
currency, six mobile sets from their possession.
A case was filed today with the concerned police station in this
connection, Rasidul Hoque added.
