Over 100 illegal structures demolished in Gaibandha
GAIBANDHA, Feb 06, 2020 (BSS) – Over 100 illegal structures were demolished in an eviction drive on both sides of Gaibandha-Palashbari Road from Bus terminal to BSCIC area under Sadar upazila in the district yesterday.
A team of Roads and Highways Department (RHD) led by Mohammad Mahabubur Rahman Faruk, executive magistrate and state and law officer of RHD, conducted the drive from 10 am to 6 pm on Wednesday.
Over one hundred illegal structures including extended portions of multi-storied buildings were demolished during the drive.
Executive engineer of RHD Mohammad Asaduzzaman, and sub divisional engineer Mosharraf Hossain accompanied the team during the drive.
Executive Magistrate Mahabubur Rahman Faruk said they conducted the eviction drive to make the construction work of four-lane very fast.
