One dies in Chandpur road accident
CHANDPUR, Feb 5, 2020 (BSS) – One person was killed and four others,
including a minor boy, were injured in a head-on collision between a CNG run
auto rickshaw and a pickup van in Chandra Chourasta area under Chandpur Sadar
upazila this morning.
The victim was identified as Noor Mohammad, 70, a resident of Haimchar
upazila.
Police said the CNG run auto rickshaw and the pickup van collided head-on
in Chandra Chourasta area around 4am, leaving passengers of the auto rickshaw
injured.
Locals rushed them to Chandpur Sadar Hospital where on duty doctor declared
Noor Mohammad dead.
Chandpur Sadar Hospital Residential Medical Officer Dr. Sujauddowla Rubel
told BSS correspondent that the victim died before he was taken to the
hospital.
Of the injured- Amena Begum, 38, Firoza Begum, 65, Jahid, 8, and driver
Shiraj, 22, will be sent to Dhaka for better treatment.
Officer-in-Charge of Chandpur Sadar police station Nasim Uddin said the
pickup van was seized, but the driver managed to flee from the spot.
