Two drug traders held with Yaba tablets in Kurigram
RANGPUR, Feb 3, 2020 (BSS) – Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) today
arrested two alleged top listed drug traders with contraband Yaba tablets
from Madhyakomarpur Bazar in Sadar upazila of Kurigram district.
“A special operational team of RAB-13 raided the area, arrested the drug
traders and seized 730 Yaba tablets, two mobile phone sets, three SIM cards,”
a press release issued by Media Officer of RAB-13 Major Syed Imran Hossain
said.
The arrested drug traders are Shree Biswanath Chandra Barman, 24, of
Bidyabagish village in Phulbari upazila and Md Rezaul Islam, 29, of Char
Boraibari village under Sadar upazila of Kurigram district.
During interrogation, the arrested admitted their involvement with trading
drugs, smuggling those from frontiers areas and supplying the contraband
drugs to different parts of the district and also selling to the local drug
addicts for a long.
“After filing a case in this connection against the arrested persons, the
elite force handed them over to Kurigram Sadar Police Station today,” the
release added.
