German team meets DU VC
DHAKA, Feb 2, 2020 (BSS) – A five-member delegation led by Regional
Director of the German Academy Exchange Service (DAAD) in New Delhi Dr. Katja
Lasch called on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor (VC) Professor Dr
Akhtaruzzaman today at his latter’s office of the campus.
Other team members were Prof. Ute Vothkuechl, Anuroopa Dixit, Rumana Kabir
and Tamara Kabir.
DU Geology Department Prof Dr Muhammad Qumrul Hassan, Director of DU Public
Relations Office Mahmood Alam and Dr Anwar Zahid were present on the
occasion.
During the meeting, they discussed matters of mutual interest and
underscored the need for undertaking joint collaborative academic and
research programmes on various fields between Dhaka University and the DAAD.
The possibilities of increasing the number of German scholarships for the
DU students and arranging short visit for its teachers specially young ones
in German universities were also discussed.
Akhtaruzzaman laid emphasize on further strengthening academic cooperation
between the DU and DAAD to explore new avenues of collaboration.
The VC thanked the guests for their visit to and keen interest in
enhancing academic collaboration with Dhaka University.
