Over 1.92 lakh to sit for SSC exams in Dinajpur Board

RANGPUR, Feb 2, 2020 (BSS) – A total of 1,92,527 students are expected to
appear in the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) Examinations-2020 in Rangpur
division under Dinajpur Education Board (DEB) from tomorrow.

Controller of Examinations of DEB Professor Md Tofazzur Rahman said all
kinds of preparations have been completed for holding the examinations in a
completely peaceful atmosphere in all eight districts of the education board.

The SSC candidates from 2,660 secondary-level educational institutions of
all 58 upazilas in eight districts of Rangpur division will take part in the
examinations at 271 examination centres under the board this year.

Of the total participating students, 99,155 are male and 93,372 are female
candidates this year.

“A total of 81,868 candidates will take part in the examinations from
Science Group, 1,6,132 candidates from Humanities Group and 4,527 candidates
from Business Studies Group this year,” Rahman said.

A total of 1,64,642 candidates will sit for SSC examinations as regular
candidates, 27,327 as irregular candidates and 562 candidates for improving
their GPA statuses this year in the education board.

Of them, 35 thousand and 954 candidates will appear in the SSC
examinations at 48 examination centres in Rangpur, 15 thousand and 177 at 19
centres in Lalmonirhat, 22 thousand and 301 at 25 centres in Nilphamari, 22
thousand and 794 at 34 centres in Kurigram and 26 thousand and 151 candidates
at 40 centres in Gaibandha districts.

Besides, 36,729 candidates will take part in the SSC examinations at 59
examination centres in Dinajpur, 19,913 at 24 centres in Thakurgaon and
15,508 candidates at 22 centres in Panchagarh districts.

Talking to BSS this afternoon, Deputy Controller of Examinations of
Dinajpur Education Board Md. Manik Husain said sufficient number of vigilance
teams have been formed to properly monitor the SSC examinations this year.

“Besides, the local administrations and law enforcement agencies will take
ample steps for ensuring law and order in holding SSC examinations peacefully
at all examination centres in Dinajpur Education Board,” he added.
