Abu Zafar made Bangladesh ambassador to UAE

DHAKA, Feb 2, 2020 (BSS) – The government has decided to appoint Md. Abu Zafar, currently serving as the ambassador of Bangladesh to Austria and permanent representative to the United Nations Offices in Vienna, as the next Ambassador of Bangladesh to the United Arab Emirates.

Zafar joined the Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) Foreign Affairs cadre in 1991.

In his diplomatic career, he served in Bangladesh missions in The Hague, Karachi, Los Angeles, Dubai and different wings at the headquarters in various capacities, a foreign ministry press release said here today.

Zafar obtained his BSc (Honours) degree in Agriculture from Sher-e-Bangla Agriculture University and MBA in Banking in Finance from Preston University, the USA (Overseas Campus) as well as Post Graduate Diploma in International Relations from the International Institute of Public Administration (IIAP), Paris.

He is married and blessed with two children.
