SAVAR, Feb 2, 2020 (BSS) – Three people, including a minor girl, was killed when a fast-moving bus hit a rickshaw in Ashulia’s Nabinagar area around 7am today here.
Police said the victims were identified as Maleka Begum, her daughter Fatema, 4, and rickshaw puller Jewel Rana.
Ashulia Thana OC Rezaul Haque Dipu told BSS that the accident occured on the Dhaka-Aricha Highway while a speeding bus of ‘Kaba Paribahan’ hit their rickshaw and ran over from behind, leaving them dead on the spot.
Being informed, police rushed to the spot and rescued the bodies. The bus was seized by the police although the driver managed to flee from the spot.
The bodies were sent to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy, confirmed the official.
