CHATTOGRAM, Jan 31, 2020 (BSS) – Information Minister and Joint General Secretary of Awami League Dr Hasan Mahmud today said primary education of students is the foundation of winning the struggle of life.
“That’s why primary education should be established on a strong foundation so that children could build themselves as worthy citizens embodying moral education and lead the country in future,” he said while addressing a function at Shikarpur under Hathazari upazila here.
The reception ceremony was arranged marking the first anniversary of local Eden Grammar School.
“One day, today’s children will be doctors, top public servants or other
professionals but they must remain their doors open for the poor people and their parents,” the minister said while speaking as the chief guest in the function.
He said the children, who are studying in English medium, must be built
with proper education so that they do not follow the western culture blindly.
“The children must be built on such a way so that they become more
interested to songs of Rabindra and Nazrul and also the patriotic one instead
of Hindi and English songs,” he added.
Hasan Mahmud distributed crests and certificates to the meritorious
students and heads of the different schools of the upazila.

Vice-Chancellor (VC) of Chittagong University of Engineering and
Technology Prof Dr Mohammad Rafiqul Alam, Hathazari Upazila Chairman SM
Rashedul Alam, Chattogram Grammar School Principal Tahsin Khan and Eden
Grammar School Principal Mahanur Tasnim Milly were present, among others.
