Ishraq pledges to adopt 50-year plan for communication system
DHAKA, Jan 29, 2020 (BSS) – BNP mayoral candidate for Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) elections Ishraq Hossain today made a pledge to adopt a 50-year long coordinated development plan for all modes of communication in the city.
“If elected, underground tunnel will be built with the coordination of all concerned ministries to lessen the traffic gridlock and ease the transport system,” he told in an interview with BSS at his Gopibagh residence in the city.
He pledged of taking up coordinated development plans so that the people would not have to face sufferings due to digging of roads repeatedly specially during the rainy reason.
Ishraq said if elected, the amount of holding tax will be fixed on the basis of public opinion and the sector will be freed from all kinds of corruption.
One stop service will be implemented for quick delivery of birth-death certificates, trade licenses and other facilities and bringing transparency and accountability of the city corporation, he added.
He also made pledge to apply modern technology to carry out regular mosquito control activities to protect citizens from the outbreak of mosquito-borne diseases including Dengue and Chikungunya.
Ishraq said Integrated Vector Management (IVM) method will be applied with the coordination of all concerned agencies to conduct mosquito killing programme.
He pledged of constructing modern walkway at parks and in open places for those who walk in morning and evening, while primary health check up centers having modern facilities will be set up at parks and gymnasiums.
