Man awarded life imprisonment for killing wife in C’nawabganj
CHAPAINAWABGANJ, Jan 29, 2020 (BSS) – A court here today sentenced an
aboriginal man to life-term rigorous imprisonment for killing his wife in
Nachole upazila of the district in 2013.
He was also fined of Taka one lakh and to suffer one-year more in jail in
default.
Additional District and Session Judge of Chapainawabganj Md Shawkat Ali
handed down the verdict to Golap Hasda, 46, an inhabitant of Tanore upazila
in Rajshahi district.
According to the prosecution story, following a hot debate between the
couple, Golap hit his wife Sabina Soren, 32, with a spade on her head
injuring her seriously on August 4, 2013 in the morning at their residence at
Khitka village under Nachole upazila. She succumbed to her injuries on way to
the Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH).
Later, Sabina’s brother Asin Soren filed a case accusing Golap with Nachole
Thana on the same day.
Investigating Officer of the case Sub-Inspector Iqbal Hossain of the thana
submitted the chargesheet On January 26, 2014. Testifyig witnesses and
evidences, the court gave the order in absence of the convict Golap Hasda.
