Health division instructs public hospitals to open ‘isolation unit’

DHAKA, Jan 27, 2020 (BSS) – Health Division today issued an order asking
the authorities concerned of all the public hospitals across the country to
open ‘isolation unit’ as a precaution against Coronavirus, which has already
killed over 80 people in China in the last few days.

Director General of Health Service Dr Adul Kalam Azad today came up with
instructions while addressing a video conference about Coronavirus with the
regional directors and civil surgeons at the conference room of Health
Division at capital’s Mohakhali.

Information officer of Health Division Sheikh Akkas Ali said a discussion
was held elaborately about the Coronavirus in the conference and order was
given to take all-out preparation to prevent the virus as precaution though
no people was found infected with Coronavirus yet in the country.

Primarily, isolation units will be opened at all the sadar hospitals and
medical college hospitals, he added.

Besides, Abul Kalam Azam asked the officials and authorities concerned to
ensure medical test of all the passengers and tourists coming through port
and seaport from different countries.

Central Hubei province is at the heart of China’s new virus Conora’s
outbreak, which has killed at least 81 people and infected more than 2,700
people across the country and has spread overseas, including Thailand, the
United States, and Australia.
