RAJSHAHI, Jan 27, 2020 (BSS) – A trial tribunal here today convicted two persons and sentenced them to death on charge of killing a baby after repeatedly raping her in the city.
The convicts are: Saidur Rahman, 42, son of Manu Mondal and Md Rana, 30, son of Abul Hashen both of Pakuria area under Shahmukhdum Police Station in the city.
Judge of Special Tribunal against Women and Children Repression Monsur Alam found the convicts guilty of the charge and pronounced the verdict in presence of them.
According to the prosecution story in brief is that the accused persons
strangulated their neighbouring girl to death after raping her on August 23, 2013. Then, they left the body in a nearby graveyard.
Father of the victim lodged a case with the Shahmukdum Police Station on the following day. Upon completion of investigation, police pressed charges accusing them.
