Govt to set up school for disable children in each upazila : Nuruzzaman
SANGSAD BHABAN, Jan 27, 2020 (BSS) – Social Welfare Minister Nuruzzaman Ahmed today said the government has taken initiative to set up a school for the children with intellectual disability in each upazila across the country.
“The Social Welfare Ministry has taken steps to set up at least one school in each upazila for the children with intellectual disability,” he said while responding to a star-marked question made by treasury bench lawmaker Nur Muhammad of Kishorganj-2 in the House here.
To this end, the government has already formulated ‘ integrated special education policy-2019’ relating to the disability, he said, adding that the policy has been taken for operating these schools.
The government has set up 62 schools for the children with Neuro disability in different districts for free education for the disable children, said the minister, adding that nearly 8,000 disable children are getting privilege of education from these schools every year.
