DHAKA, Jan 26, 2020 (BSS) – A countdown clock was installed on the Supreme Court premises here today in observance of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s birth centenary.
The Bangabandhu’s Birth Centenary Celebration Committee of the Supreme Court, led by Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain, installed the countdown clock.
Committee members – Justice Md Nuruzzaman of the Appellate Division and Justice Obaidul Hassan, Justice M. Enayetur Rahim, Justice Krishna Debnath, Justice Jahangir Hossain, Justice JBM Hassan, Justice Md Khasruzzaman and Justice Md Shahinur Islam of the High Court Division – were present on the occasion.
Earlier, on January 19, the Bangabandhu’s Birth Centenary Celebration Committee of the Supreme Court at its meeting decided to install a countdown clock on the Supreme Court premises marking the birth centenary of Bangabandhu.
As per the decision of the meeting, the Supreme Court will start the celebration of Bangabandhu’s birth centenary by offering a ziarat at the mazar (shrine) of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in the first week of March. It also decided to take other programmes marking the Bangabandhu’s birth centenary.
