DU to provide support for financially challenged students

DHAKA, Jan 26, 2020 (BSS) – Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor (VC)
Professor Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman today urged the chairmen and students’ advisors
of all departments to prepare a list of financially challenged students for
providing support to them in running their academic life smoothly.

He was addressing the orientation programme of first-year Honors students
of different departments under the Faculty of Biological Sciences and the
Faculty of Engineering & Technology of DU at TSC auditorium, said a press
release here.

Akhtaruzzaman urged the students to take oath to serve the nation after
equipping themselves with the spirits of Liberation War, non-communal and
humanitarian values as well as truthfulness, patriotism and honesty.

He congratulated the brilliant students of the country for getting admitted
into this university in the historic “Mujib Year” through a competitive
examination.

Director of Students’ Counseling and Guidance Office Prof Dr. Mahjabeen
Haque presided over the programme while Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration)
Prof Dr Muhammad Samad, Dean of the Faculty of Biological Sciences Prof Dr Md
Imdadul Hoque and Dean of the Faculty of Engineering & Technology Prof Dr Md
Hasanuzzaman addressed it as special guests.

Chairmen and students’ advisors of different departments were present on
the occasion organised by Students’ Counseling and Guidance Office of DU.
