DU holds preparatory meeting ahead of ‘Ekushey February’
DHAKA, Jan 23, 2020 (BSS) – To observe the ‘Amar Ekushey February and International Mother Language Day’ smoothly and peacefully, a preparatory meeting was held today at Dhaka University (DU) campus with its Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Akhtaruzzaman in the chair.
The meeting, took place at the Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban, was attended by Treasurer Professor Dr Kamal Uddin, deans of different faculties, provosts of the halls, chairmen of various departments, directors of different institutes, representatives of teachers and leaders of officials.
Dean of the Earth and Environmental Sciences faculty also President of Dhaka University Teachers’ Association (DUTA) Prof Dr ASM Maksud Kamal was made coordinator while DUTA Vice-President Professor Lutfor Rahman and General Secretary Prof Md Nizamul Hoque Bhuiyan were made joint coordinator to the Central Coordination Committee to observe the programmes of the Ekushey February in a befitting manner.
Proctor of the university Professor Dr AM Amzad will act as member-secretary of the committee.
Besides, 12 sub-committees were also formed in this regard, said a press release.
