Quader, Hasan join Abedin’s civic mourning in port city

LOHAGARA, Chattogram, Jan 22, 2020 (BSS) – Road Transport and Bridges
Minister Obaidul Quader today paid rich tributes to the memory of Prime
Minster’s military secretary Major General Mia Mohammad Zainul Abedin as he
joined a civic mourning along with Information Minister Hasan Mahmud here.

“He (Abedin) lived a very simple life . . . he was a polite person and his
behavior was exceptionally good,” Quader said at the condolence meeting at
Chunati Meherunessa High School ground in Lohagara upazila, the ancestral
home of late Abedin, on the outskirts of the port city.

Abedin, he said, earned high credibility particularly while serving as the
premier’s military secretary while in his professional career he served the
people’s interests never looking for personal benefits.

Hasan echoed Quader while recalling Abedin’s memory saying he earned
peoples love and respect as he always tried to work for their benefit despite
being a military officer.

He said Abedin’s behavior was also exceptional which others could follow.

Abedin breathed his last on December 17, 2019 in Singapore as he was being
treated there for cancer.

Abedin’s elder brother Mohammad Ismail Manik presided over the condolence
meeting.

It was addressed as well by port city’s mayor AJM Nasir Uddin, AL’s South
Chattagram district unit president Moslem Uddin Ahmed MP, Wasica Ayesha
Khanam MP, Kaniz Fatema MP, Saimum Sarwar MP, Ashekullah Rafique MP,
premier’s special assistant Barrister Biplob Barua, AL’s deputy publicity
secretary Aminul Islam, secretary of AL’s South Chattagram district Mofizur
Rahman attended the function as special guests.
