Speakers for building savings habit among young generations

RANGPUR, Jan 18, 2020 (BSS) – Speakers at a pre-rally discussion here
today stressed the need for developing a mindset of savings habit among young
generations for boosting economic progress in the country,

They expressed the view in the discussion arranged at the inaugural
function of the ‘Savings Weeks-2020’ held at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office
premises in the city.

The District Savings Office has chalked out week-long awareness building
programmes, including discussions and colourful rallies, across the district
to inspire common citizens, especially young generations, for practicing
savings habit.

Later, several hundred of students and teachers of different educational
institutions, rover scouts, government officials and employees, civil society
members, socio-cultural activists and local elite participated in the rally.

With Acting Divisional Deputy Director of Rangpur Divisional Savings
Office Md. Mominul Islam in the chair, Divisional Deputy Director (Local
Government) Md. Ashraful Islam addressed the discussion as the chief guest.

Deputy Director (Local Government) for Rangpur Syed Farhad Hossain as
the special guest addressed the occasion moderated by District Savings
Officer Md. Rabiul Hasan.

Assistant Headmaster Abdul Malek, Senior Assistant Teachers Mizanur
Rahman, Rasheda Islam and Benita Rani of different secondary level
educational institutions in the city also spoke.

The speakers put importance on conducting campaigns by field level
savings officials as well as school teachers to create awareness among common
citizens and young students to enhance their savings practice for
strengthening the national economy.

The chief guest said creating consciousness among common citizens to
enhance savings habit has become crucial at this moment when the country is
witnessing uninterrupted advancement in every sector on way to build a
prosperous Bangladesh.
