3-day PSE-NPS 2020 Summit ends at KU

KHULNA, Jan 18, 2020 (BSS) – A three-day Physiochemical Society of Europe –
Natural Products Scientists (PSE-NPS) – 2020 summit ended here today with
special emphasis on exploring the prospects and challenge of natural products
and dietary nutrition for maintaining a safe and sound health .

The Physiochemical Society of Europe (PSE) organized the summit titled on
“Natural Products For Healthy Living” held at Journalist Liakat Ali
Auditorium of Khulna University (KU) in association with the Pharmacy
Discipline of KU.

State Minister for Public Administration Farhad Hossain attended the closing
ceremony as chief guest while Deputy Commissioner Md. Helal Hossain, Prof
Sattya Sarker Director of School of Pharmacy and Bimolecular Sciences,
Liverpool John Moores University, United Kingdom, Md. Mosaddek Hossain,
Managing Director of UniMed UniHealth Pharmaceuticals Ltd and President of
PSE-NPS 2020 summit and Head of the Pharmacy Discipline of KU Prof Ashish
Kumar were among others , addressed the closing ceremony as special guests.

Chief Patrons of the conference and Vice Chancellor of KU Prof Mohammad
Fayek Uzzaman presided over the conference.

The state minister in his speech said the scope and impact of natural
products will greatly be increased by conducting research on different areas
and continue to expand by providing opportunities for new discoveries for
dissemination of high-quality work in this field

He said the students who will bring about positive changes in the country
will be able to build a developed Bangladesh by 2041. He urged the
government officials to gather more knowledge on the changing world to ensure
better services for the common people.

The topic also included isolation, identification and assessment of bioactive
plant, secondary metabolites and various food supplements in the context of
prevention and cure of diseases.

The summit provided an excellent opportunity to meet natural product experts
around the globe to share ideas, learn current trends and explore possible
collaborations with natural product scientists, nutritionists, medicinal
chemists, herbal practitioners, formulation scientists and other related
colleagues from both academia and industries.

Organizers said NPS members comprising prominent scientists, noted
educationists, researchers, academics, nutritionists, doctors, entrepreneurs
and traditional health practitioners from abroad attended the summit.

A total of 16 invited speakers from nine countries and 30 universities
both home and abroad shared ideas, experiences among 13 different sessions
and a total of 202 participants participated in the summit.
