RAJSHAHI, Jan 17, 2020 (BSS)- Mayor of Rajshahi City Corporation AHM Khairuzzaman Liton today said holistic efforts of all stakeholders has now become vital to ensure quality education for building up the students as worthy citizens.
“Teachers and others concerned should take the responsibilities to attain
the cherished goal,” he said this while addressing the inaugural ceremony of a two-day reunion festival of the Rajshahi Riverview Collectorate School- 2020 at its playground today as chief guest.
Established at the city’s Shrirampur area in 1947, the school authority is
celebrating the festival with its former and present students for the first
time in its long 72 years journey.
The two-day festival included colourful rally, batch-wise reminiscence,
interactions and cultural functions.
Chaired by the Headmaster of the school Monwara Parveen, the opening
ceremony was addressed, among others, by former students Aminur Rahman Khan,
Enayetur Rahman and Mahfuzul Hasnain.
Mayor Liton said quality education can be an effective means of enriching
the skilled human resources together with lessening the gradually mounting
pressure on unemployment problem.
He told the meeting that the present government has been working
relentlessly to ensure quality of education side by side with its quantity
for development of the country through improving skilled human resources.
He added that the issue of quality education should be attached with
utmost importance and teachers and other stakeholders must play proactive
roles with sincerity and honesty to this end.
Earlier, a colourful rally was brought out from the school premises that
ended at the same place after parading some important streets.
