DHAKA, Jan 16, 2020 (BSS) – Digital Financial Service (DFS) of Bangladesh
Post Office, Nagad and mobile phone operator Robi initiated process of
incorporating 50 million subscribers of Robi under financial inclusion.
The incorporation of Robi subscribers as per the agreement between Nagad
and Robi, would have pushed the customer base of Nagad to 60 million that
turn Nagad into country’s top MFS provider in terms of customer base, said a
press release today.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina officially inaugurated Nagad on 26 March,
2019 and within this short span of time, Nagad has expanded service network
across the country.
Nagad has exceeded milestone of Taka 100 crore daily transactions on
January 10.
The release added Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has recently endorsed a
directive to distribute all Government disbursements through Nagad.
It said Nagad is currently offering customers the most “value for money”
cash-out charge in the industry which is Taka 14.50 per Taka 1,000. In
addition, there is also offering of Taka 5.00 cash back per Taka 1,000 cash-
in.
