Purnata’s border photo exhibition begins tomorrow

DHAKA, Jan 16, 2020 (BSS) – A two-day solo photography exhibition titled ‘in between borders and other political constructs’ by amateur photographer Nujhat Purnata will begin at Gallery 6, Fine Arts Building in Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy from tomorrow.

Awami League Advisory Council Member Tofail Ahmed, MP, will inaugurate the solo photo exhibition ceremony at 3pm tomorrow as the chief guest.

President of Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) Dr Rubana Huq and Editor of The Daily Kalerkantha Imdadul Haque Milon will present as special guests, while Editor of Bangladesh Pratidin and General Secretary of Editors’ Council Naem Nizam, General Secretary of Jatiya Press Club Farida Yeasmin and other eminent journalists will present on the occasion.

Nujhat Purnata, obtained graduation in Mass Communication and Journalism Department from University of Massachusetts in the United States of America (USA).

She is an amateur photographer and taken various photographs from different angles and highlighted borders and other political constructs in her photos. Purnata is expected that her solo photography exhibition will encourage young generation and create momentum.

Nujhat Purnata has already visited many countries during her study period. Her father, Naem Nizam is an editor of a well circulated Bangla language newspaper ‘Bangladesh Pratidin’ and mother, Farida Yeasmin, general secretary of Jatiya Press Club.

The exhibition will remain open from 11am to 8pm on January 18.
