Hasan condoles death of Akashvani producer Upen Tarafder
KOLKATA,(India) Jan 15, 2020 (BSS)- Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud today expressed profound shock at the death of former Producer of Akashvani, Kolkata, India, Upen Tarafder.
“Upen Tarafder was a close friend to Bangladesh. In his death, Bangladesh has lost a true and close friend,” the information minister who is now in India paid the tribute in a condolence message.
He said the extensive coverage made by Upen during Liberation War of Bangladesh in 1971 and his other programmes took the ‘Sangbad Bichitra’ to a new height.
The producer was honoured by the Bangladesh Government with ‘Moitri Honorary Award’ as ‘Muktojudher Sangbad Sainik’ in Bangladesh Liberation War, Hasan added.
The minister prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.
Bangladesh Deputy High Commissioner in Kolkata Towfiq Hasan paid last respect to Upen at Akashvani Bahabn.
