CDA evicts 300 illegal establishments from Patenga sea beach
CHATTOGRAM, Jan 15, 2020 (BSS)- The Chattogram Development Authority (CDA)
in a special drive today evicted around 300 illegal establishments from
Patenga sea beach in the port city.
The drive led by Special Metropolitan Magistrate of CDA Saiful Alam
Chowdhury started at about 11 am in cooperation with the law enforcers.
During the drive, around 300 illegal establishments were evicted, which
were built up on about half kilometer area on the beach.
Magistrate Saiful Alam told BSS that despite several notices served from
the district administration, the makeshift shop owners were still built up
the illegal shops by occupying the both sides of the main beach road.
Representatives of different stakeholders including Chattogram Port
Authority, Power Development Board and Metropolitan Police were present
during the drive.
