Ireland to hold general election on February 8: RTE
DUBLIN, Jan 14, 2020 (bss/AFP) – Ireland will hold an early general
election on February 8, state broadcaster RTE said on Tuesday, quoting senior
government sources after a cabinet meeting.
The government in Dublin said further details would be issued later on
Tuesday, with Prime Minister Leo Varadkar expected to ask President Michael D
Higgins to dissolve parliament.
