Chef sent to jail for raping women in Rampura
DHAKA, Jan 11, 2020 (BSS) – A Dhaka court today sent a chef to jail after he was arrested and produced before the court in connection with two separate rape cases.
Mushfiq Alam ,38 , cook by profession, was produced before the Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate’s court today since he was arrested immediately after the filing of two separate cases with Rampura Police Station in connection with rape of two working women in the capital’s Rampura area on Friday night.
Responding to a plea of Investigation Office (IO) of the cases, Metropolitan Magistrate Millat Hossain sent the arrestee to jail until completion of investigation into the case, Sub-Inspector (SI) of Rampura Police Station Akhtaruzzaman Munsi confirmed the matter today.
He said, two victims were admitted to One Stop Crisis Centre (OCC) of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) for medical tests.
Akhtaruzzaman informed that, “The two victims used to have their meals from culprit Mushfiq house. Of them, a 19-year-old victim was raped by him on January 9 (Thursday), while another 18-year-old victim fell victim to rape on January 1. Mushfiq raped them while the victims went to his house to have their meals.”
According to the FIR, the 18-year-old victim was raped by Mushfiq for several times, he said, adding that the two women, however, filed two separate cases bringing rape allegations against him last night (Friday night).
