‘Youths must know life of Bangabandhu’

RANGPUR, Jan 11, 2020 (BSS) – Young generations must know the life of
Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman to develop a sense of
patriotism for building a developed Bangladesh.

Grassroots level public representatives, politicians and government
officials expressed the view today at a post Ananda rally discussion held at
Haridebpur union parishad premises in Sadar upazila of the district.

Sadar upazila parishad organised the event as part of nationwide upazila
level programme titled ‘Oprotirodhha Agrojatray Bangladesh’ initiated by the
Economic Relations Division of the Ministry of Finance marking the birth
centenary of Bangabandhu in the Mujib Year.

Earlier, a large of people, including 2,000 male and female students of
different educational institutions, brought out the Ananda rally that paraded
the streets of nearby Paglapeer Bazar before gathering at Haridebpur union
parishad premises.

Documentary films on life-long struggle and sacrifice of Bangabandhu and
independence were screened and drawing competitions for children and
adolescents on ‘Bangabandhu and Bangladesh’ were arranged on the same venue.

Special documentary films produced by the Economic Relations Division were
screened and local cultural personalities and popular artists rendered
colourful performances in cultural functions there since afternoon.

Rangpur Sadar upazila Chairman Nasima Zaman Boby addressed the discussion
as the chief guest with Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Israt Sadia Shumi in
the chair.

President of district Swechchasebak League Sirajul Islam Pramanik, its
Joint General Secretary Saiful Islam Sweet, President of Sadar upazila Awami
League Humayun Kabir, its General Secretary AKM Halimul Haque, Haridebpur
union Chairman Iqbal Hossain, Chandanpat union Chairman Amenur Rahman,
Saddyapuskorini union Chairman Sohel Rana, among others, addressed.

Upazila level officials, chairmen and members of all five union parishads,
local leaders of Awami League, Jubo League, Swechchasebak League, Chhatra
League and Sheikh Russel Jatiya Shishu Kishore Parisahd, teachers, students
and common people were present.

Programs of the day also include screening of the concert of ‘Oprotirodhha
Agrojatray Bangladesh’ from Dhaka on a vast digital LED board followed by
display of fire crackers.
