Army, Ansar emerge champions in National Wushu championship

DHAKA, Jan 11, 2020 (BSS)- Bangladesh Army men’s section and Bangladesh Ansar and VDP of women’s section emerged champions in the Shaheed Ahsan Ullah Master 14th National Wushu championship that concluded today (Saturday) at Shaheed Suhrawardy Indoor Stadium in the city’s Mirpur.

Bangladesh Army secured seven gold, four silver and three bronze medals to clinch the championship title while Bangladesh Ansar finished runners-up in the same event.

In the women’s section, Bangladesh Ansar won eight gold and seven silver medals to emerge champion in the meet. Bangladesh Army finished runners-up in the same event.

State Minister for Youth and Sports Zahid Ahsan Russell MP was the chief guest in the competition and distributed the prizes

A total of four hundred athletes from twenty nine men’s and women’s teams including Bangladesh Army, Border Guard Bangladesh, Bangladesh Ansar and VDP, Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Prothistan, Bangladesh Postal Division, divisions and districts across the country took part in the sixteen and fourteen men’s and women’s weight categories, organized by BWF.
