150 shops gutted in Mymensingh
MYMENSINGH, June 7, 2018 (BSS)- Around 150 shops were gutted in a devastating fire that broke out from a Hawkers market in Ganginarpar area in the town this morning.
Police said, the fire originated from an electric short circuit around 5.30 am.
Being informed, nine fire service units rushed to the spot and doused the fire at 10am, Shahidur Rahman, deputy director (in-charge) of Mymensingh Fire Service and Civil Defense said.
As most of the shops at the market are shoes and garments, so the flame of fire spread rapidly, said the official.
