Special security measures for Biswa Ijtema

GAZIPUR, Jan 8, 2020 (BSS) – The government has undertaken all-out security measures for holding the first phase of three-day Bishwa Ijtema peacefully, which will begin from January 10 on the bank of River Turag at Tongi in Gazipur.

“The government has taken adequate security measures ahead of the first phase of Biswa Ijtema. Vehicular movement on roads connecting to the Ijtema grounds will be controlled during the Akheri Munajat,” Deputy Commissioner (Traffic) of Gazipur Metropolitan Police (GMP) KM Ariful Haque said.

The Akheri Munajat seeking the peace, prosperity, brotherhood and the welfare of the Muslim Ummah separately would take place at the end of the Ijtema.

On the occasion of the Akheri Munajat on January 12, movement of all vehicular on different roads from 4am to 2pm will be stopped, he added, adding, “Parking places will also be fixed for motor vehicles.” The deputy commissioner said road from Tongi Bridge to Bogra, Tongi station road intersection to Mirer Bazar and Munnu gate to Kamarpara will be closed during the Akheri Munajat time.

After concluding the first phase, the second phase of the Bishwa Ijtema will begin from January 17.

“We have taken foolproof security measures for Muslim devotees in and around the Ijtema ground,” KM Ariful Haque said.
