2 held with Phensidyl in Gobindagan

RANGPUR, Jan 7, 2020 (BSS) – Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-13) seized huge quantity of smuggled phensidyl and arrested two drug traders from Kalitola Bazar on the Rangpur-Bogra highway in Gobindaganj upazila of Gaibandha today.

“An operational team of Crime Prevention Company (CPC)-1 of RAB-13, Dinajpur, seized 840 bottles of phensidyl and arrested the drug traders,” said a press release issued by Major Syed Imran Hossain, Company Commander of CPC-1, Dinajpur, of RAB-13.

The elite force also seized a covered-van used for trafficking the
smuggled phensidyl, five mobile phone sets and cash money from the arrested
drug traders.

The arrested persons are: Jewell Bhuiyan, 28, of village Asadnagar in
Debidwar Thana of Cumilla and Md. Kamruzzaman, 37, of village Jenka in
Mohammadpur Thana of Magura districts.

“During primary interrogation, the arrested drug traders admitted their
involvement in trading drugs and narcotics substances to different places of
the country from the frontier areas for a long time,” the release added.

The elite force handed over the arrested persons to Gobindaganj police
station after filing a case against them in this connection under the
Narcotics Control Act, 2018.
