Govt to reopen old closed industries: Humayun

DHAKA, Jan 7, 2020 (BSS) – Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud
Humayun today said the government has taken initiatives to reopen the
country’s old closed industries by installing modern technologies and
equipment.

“Under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the government
has taken initiative to reopen the old and stop factories. Through making
profitable of those industries, we will create employment opportunities for
the youth,” he said.

The minister said this while speaking as the chief guest at the
inauguration function of modern connectivity plant of Atlas Bangladesh
Limited (ABL) at Tongi in Gazipur district, said a press release here.

State Minister for Industries Kamal Ahmed Mojumder and Gazipur City
Corporation Mayor Md Jahangir Alam attended the function as special guests.

ABL Managing Director ANM Kamrul Islam and senior officials of the
Industries ministry, among others, were present on the occasion.

Humayun said the main goal of the present government is to build a
developed Bangladesh for the future generation and for achieving the goal,
workers and owners will have to work together.

Kamal Mojumder asked the authorities concerned of the ABL to attain
self-sufficiency by reducing the dependency on import.

He said ABL will have to attain the ability of producing all components
of motorcycle.
