187 illegal handsets, other equipment seized in capital
DHAKA, Jan 5, 2020 (BSS) – Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory
Commission (BTRC) and Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in joint drive seized 187
illegal mobile handsets and telecom equipment in capital.
The joint team conducted the drives at 16 shops in Rajlaxmi Complex and
Ameer Complex recently who imported these handsets and other equipment
dodging tax, said a BTRC press release today.
During the drive, a total of 187 handsets and tabs, 4 smart watches, 24
memory cards and 9 IMEI stickers worth nearly Taka 50 lakh were seized.
Later, the seized handsets and other equipment destroyed.
