Mehedi Rana overtakes Mustafizur in BBPL
SYLHET, Jan 4, 2020 (BSS)-Young fast-bowler Mehedi Hasan Rana’s man-of-
match performance in his side Chattogram Challengers’ match against Khulna
Tigers helped him reclaim the top wicket-taker spot in Bangabandhu Bangladesh
Premier League (BBPL).
The former Under-19 bowler snapped up 3-29 in his four overs against Khulna
in a display of intriguing swing bowling at Sylhet International Cricket
Stadium here today, which scripted his side’s six-wicket victory.
By doing so, he took his wicket-tally to 17, one more than Mustafizur
Rahman who, with his improved performance in the recent days, topped the
bowling list for a week.
But Mustafizur’s 16 wickets came in 10 matches while Rana played just eight
matches.
Rana hogged the limelight right from the beginning of the tournament and
claimed two four-wicket haul in his first four matches.
During the match against Khulna, he dealt a double, claiming the prized
scalp of Hashim Amla and Mehidy Hasan Miraz.
Throughout the tournament however, he gave the side breakthroughs in
crucial moment to make him the go to bowler for Chattogram.
Mustafizur though was off-colour in some matches at the outset of the
tournament, regained his form as the tournament progressed.
