Muhith starts unfolding FY19 budget
DHAKA, June 7, 2018 (BSS) – Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith has
started rolling out the national budget for the financial year 2017-18 (FY18)
at the Jatiya Sangsad (JS).
The finance minister started his budget speech at 12.52 pm with Speaker
Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury in the chair.
This is the country’s 47th national budget while the 19th budget of the
Awami League government and the 12th for Muhith.
Muhith is the country’s first finance minister who is placing the
national budget for the 10th time in a row since 2009.
Earlier on the day, the cabinet in its special meeting, with Prime
Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair, approved the proposed budget for the
coming financial year. The finance minister and other cabinet ministers and
state ministers concerned attended the meeting.
