JS Speaker mourns death of ex lawmaker Fazilatunnesa Bappy
DHAKA, Jan 02, 2020 (BSS) – Speaker of the Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Dr Shirin
Sharmin Chaudhury today expressed profound shock at the death of former
lawmaker of Awami League from reserved seat Advocate Fazilatunnesa Bappy.
In a condolence message, Dr. Shirin prayed for the eternal peace of the
departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family members, said
a press release.
In separate condolence messages, Deputy Speaker Md Fazle Rabbi Miah and
Chief Whip Noor-E-Alam Chowdhury also expressed deep shock at the death of
Bappy.
Bappy breathed her last today around 8am while undergoing treatment at
the intensive care unit (ICU) of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical College and
University (BSMMU).
She was 49.
Bappy was elected as MP in the 9th and 10th parliament for reserved seats
from Awami League.
She was also an International Criminal Court (ICC) prosecutor and
Assistant Attorney General of the Supreme Court.
