City polls will be participatory: Atique
DHAKA, Dec 31, 2019 (BSS) – Awami League mayoral candidate for Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) election M Atiqul Islam today hoped that the city polls will be participatory with the participation of all political parties.
“We are hopeful that the January 30 city polls will be participatory as all the political parties are taking part in the election,” he told journalists while submitting his nomination paper to the Returning Officer at the Election Commission (EC) here this afternoon.
Expressing his hope to win the election, he said, “There is no alternative to the ‘boat’, election symbol of the ruling AL, so we hope to win the city polls.”
Ruling out an allegation of ‘mockery’ in the upcoming poll, he said that there is no chance of election engineering as the Electronic Voting Machine will be used in the poll, adding that all quarters will take part in the election.
